Dare Cycle: Animation & Education Project
Since the Summer of 2021, I’ve been in preproduction for an animated short film with Saint Joseph Catholic's middle schoolers, teaching them the “pieces” of filmmaking while using English principles and grammar as a throughline.
I’m using curriculum I’ve developed from my years as a working writer, photographer, designer, and filmmaker.
“Dare Cycle” is a ten-minute short about three high school kids (two boys and one girl) who are dared to visit an abandoned hospital at night by fake friends and are confronted by a possessed nurse and doctor, and their minions, who were themselves dared to visit the hospital and couldn’t fight off the evil spirits within.
The story will be told in the present and the past (thru flashbacks) as we see what internal and external struggles beset the children.
