Sounds of Central Project

In 2014, I began chronicling the shuttered Central High School’s place in the history of Fort Wayne; it was the first integrated high school. Out of that grew my Sounds of Central project, where I found and digitized the long-lost music of the alumni.

Below is Richard Harris remembering a recording contract early in his career, and singing the same song he performed at his high school graduation in 1966.
